TICINO, SWITZERLAND

CASTELLO DI CANTONE
The story of Castello di Cantone began in 2016, when Viviana Pasta and Dario Pistarà decided to transform their family estate, nestled at the foot of Monte San Giorgio, a UNESCO World Heritage site, into a visionary winemaking project. Both trained internationally at the University of Milan and the Institut des Sciences de la Vigne et du Vin in Bordeaux, they honed their viticultural and oenological skills in some of the most prestigious estates in Europe.
Located in the Mendrisio region, in the heart of Ticino, the winery today spans around five hectares of vineyards under the Ticino DOC appellation, cultivating Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Syrah, and Sauvignon Blanc, varieties perfectly suited to the area’s unique microclimate.
The Wines
Viviana and Dario’s work combines deep respect for the terroir with meticulous manual harvesting, careful vinification, and small-scale production. Each glass captures the essence of the vineyard, the land, and their shared expertise. Their seven wines, four reds, two whites, and one sparkling, embody this philosophy: elegant, distinctive, and crafted both for immediate enjoyment and graceful aging.
Whether you are a connoisseur or simply a lover of fine wine, Castello di Cantone offers an experience that blends authenticity, style, and modernity, a true expression of Ticino with an international spirit.
