IN THE HEART OF BAROLO

Castrum Roche is the realization of Isacco Costamagna’s dream, who inherited his grandfather’s vineyards in the prestigious Torriglione cru, where his home and winery are also located.

After gaining experience at renowned local estates, including significant training under the legendary Cavaliere Lorenzo Accomasso of La Morra, Isacco decided to embark on his own winemaking journey.

With just 3 hectares of vineyards, Isacco produces around 15,000 bottles annually, focusing entirely on quality and the authentic expression of the terroir. His wines, including a Nebbiolo and a Nebbiolo Rosé, come from the Torriglione and Boiolo crus of La Morra.

His wines

Thanks to fermentation with indigenous yeasts and moderate use of sulfites (<50 mg/l), Castrum Roche wines maintain a natural imprint respectful of the terroir.

Soon, we will also see the birth of his first Barolo, produced in full traditional style with a blend from multiple vineyards, keeping alive the historic practice of valuing the territory. Isacco is a true “one-man show”: he oversees every detail in the vineyard and winery, dedicating 99% of his time to ensuring that every bottle represents the best of his work. And despite its low profile, its wines have already made their way into the hearts of enthusiasts, with word of mouth among wine lovers becoming its best calling card.
