IN THE HEART OF BAROLO
Crissante Alessandria is a historic winery located in the hamlet of Santa Maria di La Morra, founded in 1958 by the grandfather of Alberto Alessandria, the current head of the estate.
Alberto inherited the winery from his father and is now shaping it according to his own vision, while remaining deeply rooted in La Morra’s winemaking tradition. The style here is unmistakable: elegant and graceful wines from the prized crus of Capalot, Galina, and Roggeri, true expressions of the region’s identity.
With 6.5 hectares of vineyards, the winery produces around 40,000 bottles per year. Winemaking follows traditional methods, with long fermentations, pump-overs and manual punch-downs.
A PERFECT BALANCE
Aging takes place in oak vessels of various sizes, balancing small, medium and large barrels to enhance the complexity and harmony of the wines.
Despite the age-worthiness of the Barolos, these wines are also extremely enjoyable in their youth, thanks to Alberto’s attention to detail and the techniques he brings back from his travels and ongoing experimentation.
Fermentation is carried out with indigenous yeasts, and the use of sulfites is kept to a minimum. This is a winery in constant evolution, yet firmly grounded in tradition, offering wines that stand out for their elegance and approachability, perfect for those seeking the character and finesse of Barolo from La Morra.
