BURGUNDY AND ITS VARIETALS
Maison Romane is a micro-négoce born in the heart of Burgundy, founded by Oronce de Beler, who moved to Vosne-Romanée in 2004 to establish his cellar.
In 2017, he relocated to Nuits-Saint-Georges, where he now operates a larger winery dedicated to producing wines of the highest quality from some of Burgundy’s most prestigious appellations, including Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes de Nuits, Chambolle-Musigny, Gevrey-Chambertin Justice, Vosne-Romanée Aux Réas, Fixin Les Clos, Pommard 1er Cru, and Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru Aux Clous.
THE WINES
The winemaking philosophy is based on complete respect for both fruit and terroir: the vineyards are farmed organically and biodynamically, with manual harvesting and strict grape selection.
Vinification is as natural as possible, with spontaneous whole-cluster fermentations and minimal use of sulfur. The wines are then aged for 12 months in used barriques, without fining or filtration, in order to preserve purity and complexity—resulting in some of the truest expressions of Burgundy’s terroir.
