MARE NOSTRUM

Antoine Isenbrandt, partner of Athénaïs from Château de Béru in Chablis, has brought to life a new cultural, artistic, and winemaking project. Of Occitan origin, Antoine was born in Marseillan, in the south of France, just below Montpellier. Like anyone born by the sea, he has never lost his instinct for discovery.

His ancestors owned a wine estate which is now home to Mare Nostrum Vini. This is a négociant project where grapes are sourced with great care and determination from vineyards scattered along the Mediterranean coastline.

It is a journey along the coasts that begins right at home and then extends to the shores of southern France, Spain, but also Italy, Slovenia, Greece, and perhaps one day Turkey, Cyprus, Menorca, or Morocco.

THE WIND

A discovery of places, traditions, and cultures, united by a common thread that connects the people of the sea: the wind. Each wine bears the dialect name of the prevailing wind that blows through that specific region, essential for navigation, but also for viticulture.

The wind dries humidity and prevents diseases during spring and summer, encourages temperature variations and grape ripening, while imparting its saline influence. It interacts with both the vine canopy and the soil to deliver the highest possible grape quality.

The labels evoke the ever-changing colours of the sea at different times of the day, reflecting varying shades of light and colour.
