AUTHENTICITY OF THE TERROIR
Domaine Limar was born in the Vallée de la Marne, in La Neuville-aux-Larris, from the passion and vision of Alexis and Jeanne Limar. After studying at the Viti Campus in Avize, Alexis decided to carry on his grandfather’s legacy and, in 2023, founded his own micro-domaine together with his wife Jeanne. They now cultivate 3 hectares of vineyards spread across La Neuville-aux-Larris, Cuchery, Belval-sous-Châtillon, and the prestigious Grand Cru of Mailly-Champagne.
The domaine’s philosophy is rooted in a rigorous and environmentally respectful approach. No pesticides or herbicides are used: the vineyards are farmed manually, in full respect of natural balance. The grape varieties are allowed to express freely the minerality and finesse characteristic of the Vallée de la Marne.
AN ELEGANT STYLE
In the cellar, Alexis and Jeanne adopt a minimalist approach: spontaneous fermentations with indigenous yeasts, no fining or filtration, and long aging on the lees. Since 2023, they have chosen to vinify exclusively in small Burgundy barrels, further refining the elegant and distinctive style of their wines.
Production is deliberately limited: the first cuvée, from the 2018 vintage, counted only 1,600 bottles. Today, thanks to expansion and dedicated vineyard work, annual production has reached around 5,000 bottles.
Each bottle tells a story of passion, authenticity, and respect for the land. Domaine Limar is a discovery not to be missed for those seeking authenticity and character in modern Champagne.
