LOIRE, FRANCE

13 GENERATIONS

In the heart of the Loire Valley, Edmond Vatan is a true symbol of Sancerre. His extraordinary wine, Clos de la Néore, comes from the terres blanches, soils rich in Kimmeridgian limestone, of Chavignol, Amigny, and Verdigny, which give the wine a distinctive minerality reminiscent of the great Chablis.

The Vatan family, who have farmed these lands for 13 generations, follows a biodynamic and organic approach, favoring natural practices that highlight the authenticity of the terroir.

THE PURITY OF THE FRUIT

Old vines over 50 years of age, extremely low yields, and late harvests contribute to a wine of remarkable concentration and complexity. Fermentation and maturation take place in century-old wooden foudres, without the use of selected yeasts, to preserve the purity of the fruit.

With only a tiny production each year, Clos de la Néore is a rare and precious wine, a symbol of uncompromising quality.
