A new direct partnership is always something special. Even more so when it comes from one of France’s most fascinating and sought-after wine regions today: the Jura.

Château de l’Étoile is the personal project of Louis Fourrier, son of Jean-Marie Fourrier of Domaine Fourrier in Gevrey-Chambertin, one of Burgundy’s most respected estates. But this is not Burgundy. This is the Jura, with its own identity, energy, and remarkable history.

The estate’s origins date back to 1250, when Jean de Chalon settled on the slopes of Mont Muzard and built the château, already surrounded by vineyards renowned for their quality. Today, the domaine spans nearly 17 hectares within the small and prestigious L’Étoile appellation, a mosaic of parcels planted with the region’s emblematic grape varieties.

A new chapter began in 2024 with the acquisition of the estate by Louis Fourrier and Florian Scatamacchia. Two passionate vignerons dedicated to preserving the soul of this historic place while bringing a precise and thoughtful vision to every detail. Organic farming, meticulous vineyard work, and great sensitivity guide every decision, from pruning and harvest to vinification and bottling. Nothing is left to chance. Every intervention is adapted to the conditions of the vintage, with one clear objective: to preserve the natural balance of the vineyards and reveal the purest expression of the terroir.

The ambition is simple yet demanding: to create authentic, uncompromising wines that faithfully reflect their origin while ensuring the long-term preservation of this extraordinary heritage.

The wines have been highly anticipated ever since the first news of the project emerged. After years of effort and persistence to secure an allocation, we have finally succeeded in obtaining a small quantity. It was not easy—many importers around the world tried and failed to gain access.

What I can offer you today is a truly unique selection: rare and previously unavailable wines distinguished by their authenticity, precision, and profound sense of place.

I recently had the opportunity to taste the wines, and I can assure you that these are among the most authentic and vibrant expressions of the Jura I have encountered, displaying a level of purity and precision that is rarely found.
