THE PRESTIGE OF BAROLO
From the heart of Serralunga d’Alba comes the historic Giovanni Rosso winery, founded in 1906 and now run by Davide Rosso together with his mother Ester Canale. With 22 hectares of vineyards in the Langhe, this estate is one of the most prestigious in the entire Barolo denomination.
Here, Nebbiolo takes center stage, thanks to iconic vineyards such as Cerretta, La Serra, and the legendary Vignarionda, often referred to as the “Romanée-Conti of Barolo.”
The Canale family owns a small parcel of land within this extraordinary cru, producing extremely limited quantities of Barolo from historic vines planted in 1946 and a Langhe Nebbiolo from younger vines replanted in 2011.
Their wines
These wines are genuine treasures of winemaking, enduring in their excellence.
Giovanni Rosso produces around 350,000 bottles per year, using indigenous yeasts to preserve the authenticity of the terroir. Respect for tradition is paired with a modern vision, which has recently expanded to Mount Etna, where Davide Rosso acquired land in the highly regarded Solicchiata area, adding a new chapter to the winery’s story.
With an approach that combines artisanal care and deep terroir respect, Giovanni Rosso is synonymous with unique, elegant, and timeless wines.
