BRDA, SLOVENIA

SLOVENIA

On the picturesque hills of Brda, straddling the border between Slovenia and Italy, the winery of Marjan Simčič carries on a family winemaking tradition that began in 1860.

Here, across 24 hectares of vineyards, wines are crafted that best express the soul of a unique territory, suspended between Mediterranean influences and fresh Alpine breezes. With a strictly limited production of around 13,000 bottles per year, the highest quality is guaranteed in every bottle.

Winemaking philosophy is rooted in sustainability, following organic and biodynamic practices that respect the natural rhythms of the land.

THE WINES

Fermentations occur spontaneously with indigenous yeasts, while the use of sulfur remains well below the thresholds allowed for organic wines.

The Simčič labels are the purest expression of the terroir: the Brda Classic and Cru Selection lines capture the region’s identity with vibrant, approachable wines, while the Opoka Cru Selection, produced from single vineyards classified as Grand Cru, offers interpretations of extraordinary elegance and depth. Whites are aged on fine lees, while reds rest in wood to develop complexity and structure.

These are Slovenian wines of great personality, capable of stirring emotion with every sip.
