The Artisanal Cannonau of Mamoiada Wins Over Vinous Magazine
Exploring Sardinia through its wines means venturing into authentic, off-the-beaten-path territories. One such place is Mamoiada, in the heart of Barbagia, home to some of the finest artisanal Cannonau wines produced in Italy today.
This was confirmed in the latest article by Antonio Galloni, published in Vinous Magazine, a leading international reference for wine critics. In the recently released piece dedicated to Sardinia, Galloni writes:
“One of the most exciting areas in Sardinia today is the mountainous region of Barbagia. Wines from a producer known as Teularju made it to my tasting table. I was floored by their complexity and sheer gracefulness.”
Among all the Sardinian wineries tasted by Galloni, it is Teularju, a small, family-run estate, that received the highest score ever awarded to a Sardinian wine.
Teularju: The Story of a Young Gem from Mamoiada
Teularju was born in 2017 from the vision of the Sedilesu Family, with the aim of showcasing the historic Cru vineyards (Ghiradas) of Mamoiada. Each plot is vinified separately to express the unique identity of its soil and microclimate.
Since 2019, the winery has begun producing its first single-vineyard crus, pure Cannonau wines: Ghirada Ocruarana, Cara’Gonare, Erula, and Rizza. Each is crafted with meticulous, artisanal care, without compromise.
